COOPERATION – NOT AFFILIATION
The fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous and other 12 step programs, especially Al-Anon Family Groups, have a unique relationship. They are naturally drawn together by their close ties. And yet, the traditions and service committees of 12 step fellowships suggest that each program functions more effectively if they remain separate …. cooperating but not affiliating with each other.
“In A.A. the group has some strict limitations” regarding what it can and can’t do.
“But the individual has scarcely any! Remembering to observe the traditions of anonymity and non-endorsement, a member can carry A.A.’s message into every troubled area of this very troubled world.”
(Problems other than Alcohol, Bill Wilson, AA Grapevine, 1958).
Alcoholics Anonymous Cayman Islands cooperates, but does not affiliate, with programs dear to some of our members.
